About Our School

Our Story & Mission

The Atlanta REALTORS® School of Real Estate has been a trusted leader in real estate education since 1959, when John and Dorothy Correll began tutoring future licensees around their kitchen table. Originally founded as the Georgia Institute of Real Estate (GIRE), the school grew into Georgia’s most distinguished institution for real estate education.

In 1980, GIRE was acquired by the Atlanta REALTORS® Association, allowing us to expand our reach and better serve the real estate community. In 2018, we rebranded as Capitus Real Estate Learning Center to reflect our commitment to modern, student-focused learning. Today, we proudly operate as the Atlanta REALTORS® School of Real Estate, continuing our legacy of excellence while evolving to meet the needs of today’s real estate professionals.

Our mission is to equip real estate professionals with advanced education that moves careers forward—and keeps our members ahead in a competitive industry.

As part of the Atlanta REALTORS® Association—the largest local REALTOR® Association in Georgia—we are committed to delivering high-quality, relevant courses that support every stage of your career. From Broker Pre-license and Broker Continuing Education to specialized commercial programs in partnership with the Atlanta Commercial Board of REALTORS®, our curriculum helps you deepen your expertise, strengthen your business, and lead with confidence.

We also provide the essential courses REALTORS® need to stay compliant and informed, including License Law, Fair Housing, Code of Ethics, and Broker CE. Our Community Association Manager (CAM) Program is another popular option, offering targeted education for professionals managing community associations across Georgia.

In addition, we've partnered with leading online providers to offer flexible, accessible options for Salesperson Pre-license, Post-License and other required training.
