About Event
This Georgia Real Estate Commission–approved continuing education course, offered through the Cherokee Board of Realtors, provides real estate professionals with a practical understanding of mold and radon and their impact on real estate transactions.
Instructor Don Helvey, a licensed Real Estate Broker and Certified Mold Inspector and Remediator, brings a Realtor-focused perspective to the classroom. Drawing from real-world experience, he educates agents, associate brokers, appraisers, and residential home inspectors on how mold and radon issues can affect property value, disclosures, negotiations, and overall business practices.
The course also explores the science behind radon gas—how it forms, how it enters homes, and the potential risks it poses to occupants—helping professionals better inform and protect their clients.
