The new law includes a three-year authorization for the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program, establishing a more predictable framework for federal assistance following major disasters. For homeowners and communities recovering from hurricanes, floods, wildfires, and other disasters, the authorization could help streamline access to recovery funds, create greater consistency in program requirements, and accelerate the rebuilding of homes. The provision also represents an important milestone in the National Association of REALTORS®’ longstanding efforts to strengthen and modernize federal disaster housing policy.
