At a recent Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting, the City of Atlanta’s Planning Department gave an update on the ransomware cyberattack the government suffered.
On March 22, the City of Atlanta experienced a ransomware cyberattack that prevented customers from accessing City applications and stalled electronic contact with City employees. Employee emails were down and Certain city functions were brought to a halt.
The City’s Planning Department Director, Tim Keane informed the TAC that the department was up and running. According to Commissioner Keane, there was no significant operational impact; permits and fees are being processed as well as inspections are being conducted; some department processes, including inspection assignments are slower, but are operational.
